Grading & Homework Policy
GRADING SCALE
100-93 is an A |
96.9-93 is an A |
92.9-90 is an A- |
|
89.9-87 is a B+ |
86.9-83 is a B |
82.9-80 is a B- |
|
79.9-77 is a C+ |
76.9-73 is a C |
72.9-70 is a C- |
|
69.9-67 is a D+ |
66.9-63 is a D |
62.9-60 is a D- |
below 60 is failing |
Points are given to assignments based on the amount of time that is given to complete the assignment. On average, an assignment is given 10points a day. Journals are worth 5points. Folder checks are worth 10pts. Participation points are determine by students attendance and on task behavior. They vary from 2 points to 5 points a day.
EACH 6 WEEKS IS A SEPARATE GRADE. THE SEMESTER GRADE IS BASED ON THE TOTAL POINTS RECEIVED DURING THE SEMESTER, NOT THE AVERAGE OF THE 3 GRADING PERIODS. GRADE IS CUMULATIVE FOR THE SEMESTER.
PROGRESS REPORTS
Student progress is available on Infinite Campus. Please make sure you have access to the Infinite Campus Portal. It is the student's responsibility to make sure that all work is turned in. Grade reports with a "D" or less may result in home contact.
IMPROVING GRADE
The best way to keep your grade high is to be in class and stay on assign task. My computer lab is open 3 days a week during lunch and is also available during Excel time on Wednesday. Students who have unacceptable grades need to use Excel time to improve their grade.
HOMEWORK
When homework or projects are assigned, they are due on the day stated. Homework will not be accepted late unless you were absent the day the assignment was given or absent the day it was due. It will be due the next day after returning. Exceptions will be handled on an individual bases.
