Venice

With a population of 270,000, Venice, or Venezia, is the capital of the Italian region Veneto. The city was founded in the year 421 and is known as one of the most beautiful cities in the world. The city is only built on a collection of muddy islands and wood foundations and is virtually floating in the middle of a lagoon. With over Sadly, as global warming increases, so does sea level, and the city is slowly sinking. However, this is just more incentive for people to see the beautiful city with canals for streets and gondolas for cars.

Venice is an incredibly romantic city and one of the most romantic things you can do is go for a gondola ride through the city's canals. Maybe if you're lucky, you will even get a gondalier that is willing to sing to you. Not only is this a perfect opportunity for a guy to make his move, but it also is a wonderful way to truley experience the city. All of the gondaliers are also tour guides and gladly point out the old residencies of people like Leonardo Da Vinci and Marco Polo. The thought of being that close to history, separated only by centuries, is overwhelming. Overall, Venice is a wonderful place that all people should get a chance to visit.
