- Be aware of your belongings at all times - Pick pocketers are very common in Italy, esSpecially in Rome, so never leave anything unattended! If you set down your backpack, loop the strap around your leg.

-Always carry a map of the city you're in - When you're in a foreign country, the last thing you want to do is get lost, so pay attention to where you're going and know how to get back!

- Don't go off alone - Travel with a friend or a group, it's more fun and much safer!

- Most of all - Have fun!

Florence

Florence is the center of art and culture. With the original works of Michelangelo, especially his most famous, the David, Florence is a hot spot to experience the art styles of the ancient times in Italy. Another popular site in Florence is the Florence Cathedral, or Santa Maria del Fiore, also known as The Duomo. You can experience the amazing architecture and fresco painting on the inside of the church, as well as the gorgeous marble styling on the outside. You can also pay a small fee to climb 463 steps up steep, narrow spirals and staircases to stand on top of the Duomo with a beautiful bird's eye view of the city. If this is too much for you, there are plenty of beautiful churches and cultural museums to see. You can also experience the art of Florence just by walking down the streets. There are countless street artists as well as sculptures dating back hundreds of years on every street corner. If art is even a remote interest to you, Florence is the place to go. All in all, it provides an amazing experience.
