Traveling Italy

Helpful Hints:

- Know the language - You don't have to be fluent in Italian, but you should know the basics. A pocket dictionary will help a lot!

- Be aware of your belongings at all times - Pick pocketers are very common in Italy, especially in Rome, so never leave anything unattended! If you set down your backpack, loop the strap around your leg.

-Always carry a map of the city you're in - When you're in a foreign country, the last thing you want to do is get lost, so pay attention to where you're going and know how to get back!

- Don't go off alone - Travel with a friend or a group, it's more fun and much safer!

- Most of all - Have fun!

Lake Como

Shaped like Y, Lake Como is located in the Italian Lakes Region. It is the most popular of the lakes and its shores are variegated with dozens of villas and small towns. Most real estate on the lake is very expensive and ritzy. George Clooney even owns a house there! Many of the villas here are famous for their gorgeous gardens with beautiful plants fertile from the mild climate and lake water. The Villa del Balbianello is has the most prominent of these gardens and is furnished with beautiful vines, making the house look like something out of a fantasy. The Villa is now a museum dedicated to the work of its former owner, Guido Monzino. There are many other famous villas around the lake packed with history and culture.
