Going to Pompei was such a surreal experience, I could not belive that I was walking around a city that had once been thriving with hundreds of people. Now all that is left are ruins and a few objects they would have used back then. It is crazy that after a huge volcanic eruption that anything would be left behind.
The coolest part of Pompeii was seeing the mummy that archeolgist found. The body has been perfectly preserved, and it is crazy to see how tiny it is. The body is over two thousand years old.
One crazy thing about Pompei is that there are many stray dogs that just roam around, usually hoping the tourists will give them food. It is not weird to see tons of dogs just walking around with no owner.
